How we measure
Four numbers, measured by hand
- Width
- Across the front at the widest point, usually the base.
- Height
- From the base to the top edge, without the handles.
- Depth
- Side to side at the base, with the bag empty and standing.
- Handle or strap drop
- From the top of the handle or strap, pulled up, to the top edge of the bag. It tells you if a bag goes on the shoulder.

About sizes
How are Velvinci bags measured?
By hand, empty and standing: width across the base, height from base to top edge without handles, depth at the base, and the handle or strap drop from the top of the handle to the top of the bag.
What does handle drop mean?
Handle drop is the distance from the top of the handle to the top edge of the bag. About 9 inches (23 cm) or more lets you carry a bag on the shoulder; less means it is carried by hand.
Will my laptop fit?
Each bag lists the largest laptop it takes. A 13-inch laptop is about 12 × 8.5 inches; a 15-inch laptop is about 14 × 9.7 inches. Check the "What fits" column above.
Are the sizes exact?
Each bag is cut and stitched by hand, so a bag can differ from the listed size by a few millimetres. Full-grain leather also softens with use.
